Sunday 27 May 2012 Rouse Hill
Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm
Connie Lowe Reserve to William Harvey Reserve to Mario Lori Reserve through local bushland corridors
Walk along some of the bushland corridors of Rouse Hill amongst tall trees, along cool valleys and past creeks and lakes. Some of this new suburb's intriguing past will also be revealed. We will see an old homestead, an unknown grave and remains of an early irrigation system.
Sunday 3 June 2012 Baulkham Hills
Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm
Sophia Doyle and William Joyce Reserve
Explore the headwaters of Toongabbie Creek where callicomas and lilly pillies flourish in a creek valley which was once chocked with willows and privet. This transformation has been achieved by the local bush care group. You may be lucky enough to find some greenhood orchids hiding in the grass or to see the king parrots feasting on the native berries.
Sunday 23 June 2012 Kenthurst
Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm
Ports Road Fire Trail
Most of Sydney's sandstone ridges have been cleared for housing. This walk is a rare opportunity to explore the plants which adapted to grow in this nutrient poor environment and to enjoy the valley views.
IMPORTANT: This is a different walk from ones in previous walk porgrams in the Porters Road area.
